I have a 2010 Sundowner Horizon 6906 with a manual Bulldog jack. I would like to convert/change it to an electric jack. Does anyone have any experience converting a manual to an electric jack by purchasing a Bulldog 12,000# electric jack kit? Or, do I have to completely replace the whole manual jack for an electric jack?

First I would go with a hydraulic rather than an electric.  You may not be able to find an electric.  I have installed both.  You will replace your current jack with which ever you pick.  Both will require a 12 volt source to operate. If there is no battery on your trailer, you will need to add a battery.  This is a two person job with some ability but not a bad job.  My son & I did the last one in about 2 hours.

DLR thanks for your response. Is there a brand of hydraulic jack that you recommend? Did you just know how to install the hydraulic jack, or did you find instructions online eg YouTube? RV dealers are very expensive and I would like to do this ourselves if possible. I also priced having an awning (electric and manual) installed, and I really need to weigh the expense vs how much I would get the use out of these additions. Thanks again for your help.

I installed Equalizer jack.  They have very helpful peoplle you can call plus the instructions with the jack was very good.  No I am not a dealer.  I unbolted the old jack and the Equalizer jack bolted onto my 4Star LQ.  The instructions explains about the wiring.

My day trailer did not have a battery so we installed a battery box with battery and wired to the jack.
