Anyone have a good suggestions for putting awning up over horses? It will get hot here in few months I would like to put awning up over the horse side of the trailer (butt side) for shade. I like the ones that dont have support arms but cant find any information on them. Any suggestions?

Camping World has a big selection www.campingworld.com The ones made for pickup campers and vans have less support, if that's what you want. The flip side is that that type of awning is more expensive and less secure in big winds. If cooling is your desire, have you thought about water misters?

Check out www.carefreeofcolorado.com they have a balcony awning with no support arms listed under residential.. I have seen these on some trailers before, ( be careful of the wind )

Good Luck

I use a bag awning. This way you can simply pull it out of its rail, that stays on the trailer, when not using it. It is realtively inexpensive, usually less than $200.  the down side is that in big winds it can be pulled up out of its stakes and flap on the horses.  But it just rolls up in seconds. And if it is storiming that bad you would probably put the horses in the trailer anyway.
