Have you looked at some better built used trailers? (4-Star/Cimmaron/Hart/Elite/Twister/Bloomer)? It depends on how you will use it and how long you plan to own it...

I've looked several late model Merhows ... Don't like their exterior fasteners and hardware. Rust after a few years is ugly.

What model are you speaking of? I am looking at A 2017 AlumaStar model Merhow. Wondered if this is a sturdy trailer? All info is appreciated.

I had a 2009 Merhow Alumnastar that was a great solid trailer, very well made and I loved it. I only sold due to having kids and it just didn't have enough room anymore. I haven't really seen any of the more recent models but I did hear rumblings that they had made some changes to their manufacturing process after mine was built and that the trailers weren't as well built as they once were. I can't really attest to that as I haven't looked at any in person recently so its really hear say but I would look at both before making a decision. Have a friend with a lakota that was only a few years old and an axle failed and had to be replaced but other than that she seems to like it quite a bit.
