| Hello! I recently got a 99 Featherlite 8546 4H. When I brought the trailer home, I realized the interior lights did not work. I replaced the ground wire from the brake box and alas I have interior lights... when not coupled to the truck. When not coupled and plugged in, the interior lights work. The running lights will come on as well when the interior light switch is turned on, though the running lights are very, very dim. They get brighter if both the horse area and dressing room lights are turned on. When the switches for the interior lights are turned off, the running lights also turn off. When coupled to the truck, the running lights and all signals work as they should and are bright, but the interior lights will no longer turn on. I have not been able to locate a junction box on the trailer either. The plug runs directly into the nose of the trailer and then all the wires run in a rafter that is covered by a sheet of metal. Based on the running lights only working when coupled and grounded through the truck, I assume I have a ground issue, but would that also be what is affecting the interior light issue, or does it seem I also have a short or grounding out of those wires?  | |
