I have a manual 2 step awning on my 2005 4 Star.  Is it possible to upgrade it to electric without replacing the whole awning?

You "might" be able to reuse the fabric and the attachment rail on the trailer. The arms are different though.

How old or what's the fabric's condition ?

It's in good condition.  Guess I'll just keep pulling and slamming.  LOL

Why slamming ? Is the spring slack or too tight ? Can be tightened or loosened ...

Just letting it go the last half foot or so to roll up tight.  Not really slamming.  No big deal, but the electric one I had sure was nice.....

Yes you can... The past 2 years we go to a show  and a company is there doing awning upgrades for the whole week. We  talked to them about doing mine this year but they were booked up already. and it was very reasonable. next year I will go on day one and book. they replace your arms and put in the switches. They said it helps if you have wires to something right near the area where the arms connect to trailer inside..And it did not matter what brand awning you have to begin with.
