Recently got a 2002 4 star 2h straight load. Left dutch door has an old system (awful) of latching that has a butterfly latch you pull up at the bottom, and the male end of the mechanism goes into a slot all the way at the top of the door. You have to slam it. First off, I just don't like slamming a door at my horse's butt, but it's just an older and bad design in my book.
Is is possible to convert these two back dutch doors to a cam system, such as 4 star now has on the dutch doors?
Have any of you done this?

It would be easier to just grind off the pop rivets on the old butterfly latch and replace it with a new latch...then pop rivet the new butterfly latch back in place

The butterfly latch should latch in place with a steady push...no slam needed or desired
