Double walled means two sheets of metal - one inside, one outside. So when you look at the trailer from the outside, you don't see any of the vertical supports - it's smooth, and all you see is the siding. These are preferable because they don't show 'dents' from horses pawing in the trailer. A single wall is just that, siding is only one sheet, on the inside of the trailer supports, and everytime the horse paws and dents the siding you see it on the outside. Is that as clear as mud? Definitely go with the double walled if it's an option. Then make sure there is rubber up the walls on all sides, and you should be good to go.

Kinda scary they aren't all atleast double if you think about how powerful a horse is and if they blow up in the trailer. Thanks for info

I have a little two horse slant that I use for short trips, and it is single walled, steel. Pretty hard for something to actually go thru the wall, but a shod horse can dent it quickly if they paw hard enough. Then that leads to rusting...
