I have a small 20 ton bottle jack that can lift 1 axle easily. I once had my 5 ton floor jack, it turned out I could not lift an axle with that floor jack, it lifts my Jeep easily but I could not make the trailer axle leave the ground.

If you have a woodworking friend with a band or saber saw, you can make a jiffy jack out of a scrap 6 x 6 in less than a minute. Find someone putting up a deck and get the scrap materials for free.
