I am in planning stages of camping in the Black Hills (probably Broken Arrow) and will be there about 10 days. I will be having two or three 4 horse goosenecks with l.q. and was wondering which sites you all liked best with relation to shade and proximity of stalls. I know they do have golf carts but still would like to be relatively close to horses. I was going to reserve early for next September.

We were in site #36. Right next to the new barn. I didn't notice any site with a lot of shade. But we didn't miss if.We loved Broken Arrow. We checked out other campgrounds and were under impressed. We found two trails not open over by Iron creek. We made it thru but rode mules and coon jumped the big stuff.I heard that the back country horseman are now clearing the two trails now. They are #7 and#14. Up to Harney Peak.We rode the#3 trail up and back.We rode 14 and 7 going to Mt.Rushmore.We would have killed for a saw and hand nippers.lol.Had a great time.We rented the two horse trailer and used it to get to trail heads. It was not expensive and a very nice trailer.Wish we could go for longer or go every year.
