Location: Corpus Christi, Texas | Here's a persuasive argument for keeping your horse tied in the trailer until ready to unload.http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=290451804303804&id=100000345511293 |

Location: ark/ok border | OMG, why didnt they have up the jail bars??? We never let ours down if our horses are loaded, but I see trailers running down the hiways all the time w/the horses heads sticking out. Maybe some of them will watch this and learn. http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=290451804303804&id=100000345511293

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas | I'm glad you could link to it.. I thought I'd messed it up..That was my exact thought.. Why wasn't this horse tied and why aren't the window bars up? |

Location: michigan | We don't know what happened. Maybe they loaded the horse with the window down to get him in...maybe the horse WAs tied but it hoped through anyway and they untied him to get him out..maybe the horse has been hauled alot before without anything happening and it was a fluke. Maybe the horse is just an idiot. We don't know. With horses anything is possible no matter how "prepared you are" This won't change my mind about tying in the trailer..I don't with two of my horses but the other I would because is does lean on the stupid side. |

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas | sorry.. I couldn't copy and paste it correctly.. You'll have to copy the link and paste it into a window.. It didn't work the first time I checked it, but did another time.. I think the reply after my initial post has a link that did better. |

Location: Northern CA | ok- just saw it.That was horrible. Yeah- gotta make sure those windows are closed and or the bars are up at least when loading. Not gonna hurt the horse to not have his head tied while traveling.Just close the divider. We all forget that some times horses do the stupidest things. Even if they have never tried it before doesn't mean that they won't do it for the first time ever. Horses think that just because they can get their head through, they can escape. I bet this trailer had feed troughs in it that made it even harder for the guys on the inside of the trailer to help with the horses hind feet. |

Location: Richmond, Ky | Dang... That is really a bad situation to be in. I travel with my horses tied, bars in place and windows open unless it's cold. Had one try to run out of the trailer backwards one day with the bungee strap still connected and she busted her you know what and got a good sting from the bungee strap breaking.........problem solved since then!!! |

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas | I had my little mare rush out of my old straightload trailer a couple of years ago while tied with a bungee tie.. It started to frizzle and pop.. thank God she stopped and let me unfasten it before it broke completely and slapped her in the face or she'd still be running. I learned a lesson that day and have not used another one since..... |
