Location: MI. | I was disgusted when I saw these horses. I know the people are hurting, why are there more babies on the ground when they can't care for the ones they have? It baffles me. http://esmaegypt.org/blog/other-animals/urgent-equine-cases/ |

Location: Northern Utah | My wife and daughters went to Cario Egypt a year ago for spring break. They rode out to the pyramids like most tourist on a camel. I asked why a camel. They said there were horses or camels to ride and that the horses looked so small and underfed, that they didn't feel right burdening the poor horses. My daughters and wife are all used to my fat and sassy horses. As you travel the world, there will always be animals that are not being taken care as well as we take of our own. 3rd world countries work their livestock hard and feed them rougher forage or smaller rations |

Location: East Tennessee, USA, Planet Earth | If you ever go back to Cairo, let me know. I'll hook you up with my friend MaryAnne, an American who has lived in Egypt for years after falling in love with her husband.
MaryAnne runs a riding stable, and Al Sorat Farm, in Abu Sir Giza. You can also stay there.

There aren't that many places near Cairo where kids and adults can visit and interact with animals who are safe, sane, healthy and friendly. Al Sorat is just such a place and has plenty to do only about 40 minutes from the city.
Her horses are beautiful and well taken care of.
I highley recommend Al Sorat Farm and MaryAnne. |
