| We have just recently purchased our third featherlite trailer. We think they are a well built trailer and have been very pleased with them. We looked at lots of other brands but decided we liked the featherlite the best. There are many good brands of trailers out there. We found what we wanted in the featherlite at the price we wanted to pay. I have heard many good things about Merhow and did some research on them and they seem to be a very good trailer also. I would just shop around and buy the best trailer you can afford at what you are wanting to pay. Make sure you look at the possible purchase with a fine tooth comb. Look underneath, on top, inside in every corner. Know what you are getting before you write the check. |

| Our best friends own a Bison Lq and they love it. We did look at Bisons but decided on the Featherlite. I do love the trailers they have now with the double slideout and love the way the lq is set up. We looked at hundreds of trailers before we bought. I love looking at different ones to get ideas of what I really wanted and what layout I preferred. Now, if money were no object I would have one with a triple slideout, claw foot bathtub and a bedroom in the middle. |

Location: Ky | I haven't had any experience with the Bison trailers, but, I have friends that have Featherlites and I have looked at the Featherlite for possible purchase before. Between those two, I couldn't say, but, the Featherlite is a very poorly constructed trailer. There is a glaring difference between them and Elite, CN Norstar, 4 Star and Platinum. If you can't tell much difference between it and the Bison, the Bison must be just as poorly built. |

| If the Featherlite was a very poorly constructed trailer, we would have not purchased one much less three. My hubby is a certified welder and he has very good knowledge about how well built trailers are. We go over every possible trailer purchase from top to bottom before we decide to buy. No they are not a Platinum or an Elite but for the price and quality I feel like we got our money's worth. Every trailer owner will have their brand preference. Ask 10 different people and you would probably get ten different anwers.

Location: louisiana | Check to see which one has marine grade aluminum flooring which holds up much better than regular aluminum. Dont know if it is the areas weather or what but have 3 friends with Featherlite trailers that all are under 3 years old and taken very good care of. 2 have had to replace their flooring due to pitting (pin size holes all over) and the 3rd is fighting with the company now to get theirs replaced for the same pitting problem. The deal seems to be that even though alot of the trailers have a pretty good warranty, the fine print states that products manufactured by an outside party(aluminum supply places)is only covered by the manufacture of those products. Most of those products(flooring, aluminum sheeting, aluminum beams and even light housings) carry usually a 1 year warranty. When I bought my trailer 2 years ago, I checked almost EVERY trailer brand that is available in Louisiana and all had this in their warranty, even the Bloomer, 4 stars, c&cs, featherlites and sundowners. I have never seen the other 2 brands mentioned around this area but wanted to make you aware of the flooring issues with the Featherlites. Friends`were told that they are aware of this problem but it is cheaper to keep it the way it is than change it. Being as it is over a year, they will send you the aluminum planks to replace the floor but you must pay to have it switched out which is not cheap. |

Location: MO in woods | If wanted cheapest made trailer go for Bison if want to hold up and be worth money spent buy anything but Bison.Merhow yes Featherite ok. |

Location: Kentucky | If these are the only 3 that you would consider due to budget, dealer location etc....then I would go with Featherlite. For sure NOT Merhow (they are made so cheaply in my opinion) and Bison has had some serious (fire) warranty issues. |

Location: Kentucky | Saw one catch on fire in a service bay at a shop where I was having work done on my trailer. Something to do with a missing fuse. Have also heard other stories, as we all do.

| I have a simple saying that holds true in every purchase you make....You get what you pay for buy a cheap trailer get a cheap trailer....and whith good quality comes a higher price. Any trailer that has plastic saddle racks and bridle hook....or plastick of any kind in it's tack or horse compartment then you better look real close at what else is cheaply done. Just be carefull and do your home work. |
