Location: southcentral pennsylvania | I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Horses are also a part of my circle of beloved friends and family, and losing one is always difficult. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself time to grieve. It is some of the hardest work you will ever do. Been there, Brenda |

Location: White Mills, Ky. | (((HUGS))) for you Story. It is so hard to lose a good and loyal friend. A wise old friend once told me, "The only way not to lose a horse, is not to have one." And then our lives would be so much emptier. RIDE ON! |

Location: western PA | Donna, When you love your pets and make them part of your family, you set yourself up for heart brakes. Try to think of the joy, affection and good times you shared. Celebrate the life in which you enriched and participated. Not everyone can have the bond and friendship you have experienced. Try to balance your misfortune with the pleasures you've received. These special animals were loaned to us for a reason. You were fortunate enough to realize its importance, and enjoy the richness your bond created. If you're sad now, it's because you were committed and caring. You both benefited from your special attachment, and you can be proud of the life, for which you so well cared. Gard

Location: Northern Utah | I can relate and feel for you. I took a beautiful colt in to have him gelded yesterday morning. Surgery went fine and after a recovery period, I took him home and put him in the pasture. I asked my daughter to check on him a few times that afternoon. She called me late in the afternoon that he had died. You do get attached and I will miss him. Luckily I still have 4 other horses that all need my attention. best wishes. |

| Story and Painted Horse, so sorry to hear of your losses. Most of horses have been deemed to have a forever home here at our place and I know someday we will be facing this. We have lost two great dogs in the last fifteen years and I still miss them. Horses and pets just seem to have such special meaning in our hearts. |
