Location: southcentral pennsylvania | Thanks for sharing! I keep a file of "Golden Heros and Heroines" to offer inspiration for riding into old age. This will be included! The May edition of the Pennsylvania Equestrian ran an article concerning a study whose data indicated virtually all folks on the survey had hung up their spurs by age 65. I e-mailed a response, which was published in the June edition. Their data pool must have been very small! Brenda |

Location: Fort Worth, Tx | A wonderful film...if you have not been to see it at it's home at the Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth, a visit is in order. It is an awesome place and has some amazing footage of Reeves and other cowgirls. Sadly, Reeves dies about 4 years back in a fall from that same horse you saw in the film-he bucked her off at 28 years old. But as a lifelong cowgirl, that's probably the way she wanted to go anyway! |

I get so many people commenting and trying to tell me that I shouldn't camp alone, or ride in the mountains alone, I'll tell ya what, I'll prob. die doing what I love and with a horse I love also! |

Location: Texas | Several years ago a few of us did an expostion roping in honor of Ms. Reeves at a little arena called Crider's near the camp where she taught. She was a real character and a genuine cowgirl and lady. A real hoot to talk to when it was just the cowboys around. They don't come like her anymore. |

| I hope this doesn't happen to you but if Mother Nature treats you the way she usually treats most women,come a certain age,that will be the LAST place you'd die unless you were the Madam. Or a man,any age.

Location: OR | I think that *was* the G rated version. This was a great thread. Thanks ladies! Loved the movie trailer. I'm just working up to riding again at 43. Guess I better get crackin', only, hm lessee, 58 more years to ride!

Location: MO | I'm 72 years old and still riding a lot. That lady is and inspiration to all riders male and female. If I can ride for 30 more years and then die when my horse bucks me off, My life will certainly be complete. |
