Location: Teague, TX | Does anyone trail ride at Fairfield Lake? The website says there is a 15 mile trail around the lake. I'd like to go try it, but need a trail riding buddy, since I am new in the area.

Location: Texas | I've ridden there once and it was very nice. Wooded with good easy to follow trail and lots of bridges to cross. I won't be doing much trail riding until cooler weather this fall, but maybe we can meet over there then. I'm from Palestine. Right now the only time I'm riding is "early" in the morning. Just too hot out there! |

Location: Teague, TX | Thank you everyone. I figure if I start at about 6:00 a.m., it won't be too hot. I'm looking forward to going there. |

Location: Texas | Yeah Kris, maybe we can make a RedNeck RedHat Ride over there for a day this fall. 6:00 am is about the only time to ride right now. Fun2Run, the RedNeck RedHat Riders are a group of women that didn't want the traditional "Red Hat" things, so we started a horsey club. Only rule is that there is no rules! LOL OH yeah, we do have one man member, but he has to wear a red hat too. |

Location: Palestine, TX | Fun2Run, yep, it's getting 'bout time to saddle up again. I will get with the other RedNeck RedHats and see if we can get a ride together at Lake Fairfield. I'll let you know. If not, then we can make plans to meet over there soon. Do you work? I am off on Mondays. Lena's Mom, there is camping for regular campers, but there is no equestrian camp sites. I suppose you could camp primitive where the equestrians park for day rides. You could always ask the park rangers if that is allowed. Have you tried Ebenezer? It is great! It is on Sam Rayburn Lake out of Jefferson. BIG metal corrals for your horses at each campsite and great showers. Don't let the web site fool you - it says there is a mile and a half trail. That is true, but what it fails to say is that it joins the Angelina State Forest where there is probably 25 miles of trails. |

I will put that on my list. It'snot that far from here. Thanks again. Maybe we'll meet up some time on the trail. |

It has wonderful camp sites and the beach on the lake is beautiful. I was there last winter. The bath house is real nice and clean to, at least it was when I was there.

You could take 79 to Buffalo, make a left on I-45 go about 20 miles to Fairfield and make a right there. |

Location: Teague, TX | We went and rode there last weekend but I'm a little confused. It shows on the map that you can cross the road, then go along next to the road for a long ways, but you have to cross a large creek which appears too wide and deep. So we went along on the other side for about 5 miles and crossed several nice bridges, it was nice riding. Anyway, I'm curious how you do the actual 15 mile trip? |
