I would like to know the pros and cons of acid washing.  There is a truck/trailer wash here in Huntsville, Texas.  I just got a used aluminum trailer that has been acid washed before once I think, and it is gray and streaked.  Does the acid wash do any long term damage to the aluminum,

and how often do you need to acid wash it?

Once it has been acid washed, will normal washing with soap and wax help it any?

While you are at it, ask what acid washing does to the environment.  I've never had one of my trailers done because nobody could/would ever tell me.
