my lq's that is. The only reason I bought it was to make our move from WA to TN in a comfortable fashion. I never intended to keep it but now I cant sell it because of the darn economy. Any ideas????

Congratulations on your move to a beautiful state.Sure you don't want to hang onto it for all that wonderful camping/riding that is in Tenn?

Yeah I know, at the the time was just trying to get pics up. I kinda thought about cleaning it up and re-taking the pics. Thanks for the tip! 50

That is one option I'd avoid like the plague...

Renters don't treat rental stuff as their own...or maybe they do...

If you do elect to go that route, make sure you have one heck of a damage clause in your contract...

It is a really nice trailer. Just be patient and hopefully someone will be in the market for something like it. I am in the market, but for one that is not quite as big.Wish it had an 8 ft. SW and a lower price tag and I might buy it. I really like the 8ft. width and having the mangers. I am looking for something for my son to take with him to school as he college rodeos. He has had our big LQ, and I plan to try and sell it and get him something not quite as nice. True, the market for most anything stinks at this point, but hopefully things will turn around.

Don't be discouraged cause it is a very nice trailer!

Rental might open a can of worms you might never resolve.... my niece has some rental homes (nice homes) and what renters do without remorse is staggering.  She screens them and even then there are some extraordinary issues... you can win in court and still not get anything $ out of them...

No offense, but if you'd clean it up before taking your pictures you might get more bites. Looks like a nice trailer, though. Put it on Craigs List and run some ads in the Tennessean if you haven't already.

We have a Dream Coach and love it. They are very good trailers. As others have said, you really, really, need to clean it up BEFORE posting pics for sale!  If I was looking to buy, I would certainly not even consider this trailer just because of the mess you show it to be.  I would think that if that is how you advertise it, I would not want to think about what it looked like normally.  I am sorry if that is rough but it may help you sell it.

I concur with the other poster, clean it up before you list a 7 yr old trailer for 40K.

Well............ I have sold alot of trailers on this site. I did a little homework for ya, there are 6 pages of 4 horse LQ trailers with mangers and mid tack, for sale on this site. In those 6 pages, there are a number of them less for less than you are asking for yours. There is a Bloomer 12' shortwall for $37k and a Hart for $36K and change. So................... you need to explain to the buying public why yours is so special, or adjust your price. I hope you don't have that kind of money in it?

Geez I feel as if I have to defend myself. We just moved here from WA less than 8 weeks ago, had a horrible trip, 5k in vet bills and still rising, I apologize that I did not have time to clean the trailer up before I took pics just to get it on the web, it is still in use, we are in need of $$$ because of this ill horse. Anyway I paid $44k for it about a year ago, and it was the CHEAPEST lq's I could find on this site at the time that had a midtack and other options we wanted. I plan to go and clean the inside and re-take pics but just dont have all the time in the world to do so since I am still dealing with a sick horse that requires ALOT of attention.
Maybe I am way off but I dont feel I should lower the price more than what it already is, it is in excellent condition and ready to go down the road. I am only the 2nd owner.

Well here is example #1 http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=157122

And here is example #2 http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=153960

I just wanted to show you what you are up against in selling your trailer, that you have admitted has a problem with a laminate/linolium floor.

Now that's funny!

I don't think anyone here is trying to make you defend yourself. You asked if anyone had "any ideas". A lot of them have been thrown out there.

My dad taught me this peddling horses...if you wanted an old nag to bring show horse prices, you had to spend a little time and make it look like a show horse. About the only person that will buy a dirty trailer is a dealer. In most cases they will spend a few hundred dollars shoveling shavings and $#!*, wash it, clean it, and by doing so will often make it bring thousands more. If you want it to bring the price of a gem, it needs to look like a gem. Whenever I look at something used that is dirty, I have to question how it has been maintained. Unless it is cheap. Cheap can make someone overlook a lot.

Considering that you don't want to sell it cheap, clean it up, take new pictures, and change the price to $39,900. That way it will show up in a search from $30k to $40k and create a bigger market for you. That is how I would recommend making it sell for the most money. JMO....

You got some very good advice and I'd be paying attention to it.

Here is me being blunt and not personal-

If I were in the market for a 40K trailer ( thats still alot of money BTW) I'd be looking for something clean and well maintained. It doesn't take that long to clean up- remove the water bottle from the sink, the blanket off the couch, the stuff off the sink counter...your personal problems are yours not mine. I am a buyer of a trailer period.

Price matters and as a buyer I am looking at that too. While nobody wants to lose money or give the darned thing away, sellers find a buyer with the right price. The suggestion to lower in it to fit into the 30k-40k range was a good idea...

Not to pry too much...

What kind of horse do you have that is worth sinking 5K in vet bills into??

Especially, since you are sending signals you can't afford the bills?

Just being practical in a NEGATIVE economic environment...

I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too!  You either WANT to sell your trailer or you NEED to sell your trailer.  As someone else said .... a buyer does not have your best interest at heart nor are they worried about your personal problems.  They are looking to buy a trailer and you have one for sale.  You have to have the nicest trailer in that market for sale or why would someone choose it over others?  I would not look twice at a trailer that was kept in that condition.  I am sure if it is not cleaned, it is not taken care of in other respects as well.  If you don't have to sell, leave it as it is and stay at your price.  If you need to sell, you better clean it up and lower your price so you are competitive with the others.

Am I even looking at the right trailer?  What "condition" is everyone talking about?  The LQ are clean, so there is tack in the tack room and shavings on the floor.......so what?  Its a horse trailer?????????

Much better.  That's a nice looking trailer.  Although there are no longer pics of the inside of the horse area, I hope you also cleaned it up.  It needs to be clean before someone views it.

First of all let me say that this trailer has been maintained like it should (bearings packed, tires & brakes checked etc...) So no need to worry about how its been taken care of, I just didnt have time at the time the pics were taken to clean it up first. If someone wants to come look at it, it will be spotless. Thanks for the advice and tips, hopefully we will get it sold soon.
