Location: Gallatin, TN | Has anyone used listerine as a mosquito repellent? If so, does it work? I read about it somewhere, sorry don't remember where, and thought I would check here to see if anyone has tried it. Happy Trails! JacciB |

4 oz Repelx concentrate
1 oz Listerine
1 oz Skin so Soft
2 C Water
Add Apple Vinegar if you want
Another mixture, no listerine
4 oz Skin so Soft
1 oz Citronella oil
12 oz Vinegar
12 oz Water |

Location: Way, Way Up North | Here's our standard recipe: - 1/3 Listerine
- 1/3 White Vinegar
- 1/3 Baby Oil
Put it in a spray bottle and shake well before using since the layers tend to separate. It works, but you do need to apply it more often than the toxic "pesticide" type sprays you can buy. We're lucky here--few mosquitos, but those gnats . . . |

Location: Farmville, VA | The last one listed (with no skin so soft) is a great tail growth spray! Doesn't do a thing for mosquitoes, but will grow a tail or main in no time at all! I worked in a Saddlebread barn as a teenager, and this was their "secrete tail tonic"! I still use it today with better results than any over the counter product! |

My TWH has a sparse mane to say the least. Do you just spray it on and come through? How often should it be applied? Thanks, JacciB |

1/4 cup Listerine
1/4 white vinegar
1/4 babby oil
1/4 water
(I use the wal-mart brand of vinegar and babby oil, but do buy the Listerine brand name ~ I use the mint, I like the smell!)
Mix well, spray one dock of tail or scap area of main, lightly rub in and leave. This is also highly used in the app world. The Listerine and vinegar act as a cleansing agent, while the babby oil and water keep the skin soft, encouraging the hair growth the thicken, It will also keep them from itching as much.
