Location: Western Minnesota | I have a 3 horse lq trlr and one of the axles seem to be out of line. The tire gets really hot on one side. Is there a fix for this, or do I replace the axle? Has torsion suspension and doesn't seem to be any adjustments anywheres. Is this unusual? I know I haven't hit anything or turned real short, the only thing I can think of is driving up on a tire changer block. Could that have done it?

Location: California | Could it be the brakes are grabbing and not releasing? The only way to see if the axles are out of alignment is to jack it up, remove all the wheels and use a plumb bob from the end of each axle (spindle) and from the center of the hitch. The measurements from the hitch to the spindles should be the same for each side, otherwise it is out of alignment. An alignment shop that deals with BIG rvs can straighten torsion axles. Driving up on a block should not damage the axles. |

Thanks Check your bearing...check to see if you have a dragging brake...finally take it to a service center that can check your axle alignment |

Location: Western Minnesota | I have repacked the bearings and checked and rechecked the brakes , and I have brought it to a trlr shop now, but they haven't looked at it yet. They seem to think if it is bent , it would need to be replaced. ? The inside of that tire is also cupping on the edge. |

If the inside of the tire is cupping, the wheel alignment is definitely incorrect. This could be caused by a bent spindle, rather than the axle. Unless an axle is struck by an object while being towed, it is unlikely that it will be bent. A more common scenario, is the right spindle being bent from dropping off the edge of the pavement or being hit by pot holes. A good frame shop will check your wheel alignment, and check the frame and axle diagonals to determine the correct placements of your components. Gard |
