Location: Eugene, OR | I am looking for a basic 3 horse all aluminum LQ trailer when I can get the most functionality for my $$. I have been leaning toward a Bison, but I recently discovered Xpress Trailer Group. They do custom conversions of Kiefer Built trailers and they are based in southern CA. I was wondering if anyone had heard of them or has any comments? I can get a 9' w/a 6 cu ft fridge which has been hard to find in anything less than a 10' living quarters. Any comments are appreciated, please feel free to send me a PM if you wish. Thanks, Jerri |

Location: western PA | Have you checked the obvious sources, websites, forum searches etc.? Perhaps there are some SOCAL members here, that might know of this brand. Gard

| You might want to try searching on here again. We've talked about XPress before. They have a couple of companies, Kiefer being 1 of them, build them a trailer shell to their specs & then do the LQ somewhere. So when finished, it isn't a Kiefer or a Charmac. Friend has one and was told that Kiefer would do warranty on it. Not! It is an XPress. So make sure that you are comfortable with them, before you invest. Remember, you're buying from the dealer who will handle things, not the company. By the way, they do look like a pretty decent lower-end unit. It will be similar to a Kiefer Evolution which is their lower end unit. |

Location: KY | Kiefer offers a 9' shortwall 3 horse with the big fridge and is nationally advertised at 41,995.00. The Advantage you are looking at is the same thing as Kiefer's Evolution which is a steel frame aluminum skin trailer. The trailer Kiefer has advertised for 41,995.00 is their Genesis which has an aluminum frame. That may be something to look into then you would get Kiefer's warranty.

| Jerri,
I have friends that have the Xpress Advantage Plus, 12' LQ w/slide out, 4 horse. They love it! We all go roping and spend the weekend. The trailer seems to be well made and they haven't had anything done to it except new tires after 2 years of heavy use...they went to 14 ply, too.
Theirs is a Kiefer Built and Cowboy Classics did the interior. The really neat thing is the rumber floor in the horse area. They said it has a 20 year warranty on it. Check them out a little closer, I think you might be surprised. Good luck! |

| Respectfully to Duckman, you may want to look a little closer into that statement. Similar yes, same, no. Kiefer products have some proprietory features that XPress doesn't have, like the leak-proof roof.

| At one time, Charmac & Kiefer both built for XPress (not for sure now). But its like the Cost-cutter beans at the grocery store. They may be canned by Campbells, but that doesn't mean they are to Campbell's specs. In manufacturing, you can build whatever you want, or better yet whatever you have an order for! And if XPress has different quality specs for their trailers than the ones Kiefer puts their name on, then it doesn't really matter who builds it. Since XPress specs it, and honors any warranty on it, it is an XPRess trailer, no matter who the low production bidder was that week. Lots of companies are trying to fill production space. |

| So I guess Xpress is not a manufacturer, only a generic competitor? |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | XPress, in a way is sorta like EquiSpirit. They don't build a trailer as such themselves, they buy from another manufacturer and have there name put on along with their own graffic design. Xpress = Kiefer EquiSpirit = Trail-et? |

| Yes Retento, they add their name & graphics to a product they spec. I'm not sure how much clearer to say it, but an XPress is an XPress. They are made by Charmac & Kiefer, but Charmac & Kiefer do not sell the same products themselves. You tell me why they don't /won't sell them directly....... |

| Hi There--Heres some info from a current Xpress owner. Xpress is the manufacturer of the Living Quarters. Xpress is a Living Quarters horse trailer. The trailers are Kiefer Built and built for Xpress and yes--as stated in a previous comment --they are built to Xpresses specs as regards the length of the shortwall. They do not build a length for Xpress that competes with a trailer they build for themselves. THere are maybe 4 or 5 other differences but I would consider them all upgrades. As explained to me originally by Xpress, all Kiefer Built trailers made for them have an aluminum floor under the L.Q.--each trailer has a rumber floor that has a 20 year warranty--each trailer is lifted 3" for clearance to allow for the tanks plumbing etc for the L.Q.--the divders are all installed with slam latches--i think the last 2 years they include a stainless nose-- the tires are upgraded to 14 ply as mentioned by another. Kiefer provides the normal 5 year warranty but through Xpress and Xpress provides the 1 year warranty for the L.Q they install at their facility in Hemet, Ca or the one in Nixa, Mo.Hope this helps and for the record I am extremely pleased with what a I have--only wish I had bought a 4 horse instead of a 3 horse. If I decide to do something with this trailer and get a 4 horse I will definitely go back to The people @ Xpress in Hemet. Good people to work with. |
