Location: Dayton, OHio | My wife and I are going to Montpeller, Oh for a dog agility show the weekend of April 25, 2008. We're staying at the fairgrounds and I'd like to bring the horses. Would anyone like to meet up and ride that weekend? From what I can see there aren't many riding options close by. York Hills is 1.5 hrs from Montpeller, Potato Creek, Van Buren are about 2 hrs. drive. Thanks,Tom in Dayton, OH |

Location: Dayton, OHio | Thanks for the offer, but I can't make it that weekend. I'm going to Midwest over Memorial weekend, however. Let me know how it goes. I've trail ridden to Midwest from Hickory Ridge, but haven't stayed at Midwest yet. |

Location: IN | Check out Salamonie and Lost Bridge. Could, probably will, be muddy, but if not, it's supposed to be pretty nice riding. Wish we had more riding options in Northern Indiana! |

Location: Alvordton Ohio | Hello. Just read your message and thought I let you know that there is a place in Michigan that is called the Bluffs. It is less then 45 mins away. I go there all the time. It is awsome place it cost $5 dollars a day to ride. I camp there all the time . It takes me 1/2 hr. to get there. It has flats and hills. If you would like I can give you directions. really like to keep in touch. |

Location: Dayton, OHio | I looked up Bluffs. If that's in Cheboygan, it's about a 5 hr. drive from where I'll be staying. Ouch! |

Location: Northwest Ohio | I haven't been there myself, but I've heard of The Bluffs. Waterloo Recreation Area.....flats, hills, creeks, sand and stone.... in Chelsea, Michigan, is one of my favorites. Only 80 miles northeast of Montpelier. Van Buren has very similiar terrain. We rode both Waterloo and Van Buren last year. I'm lucky in that I'm less than 60 miles from both. |

Location: Alvordton Ohio | Hi, You said that you looked up the Bluffs. I should know where it is at I have been going there for the last 7 yrs. And I live in Pioneer Ohio and it takes me 1/2 hour to get their. It takes me 10 minutes to get to Montpelier fair growns. The Montpelier Fair grounds are on State route 107 If you go east from the fair grounds. You will come to State route 15. Go North thru Pioneer and keep going till you cross the Michigan line. Which State route 15 turns in State route 99. Keep going north till you come to a road call Terrietal rd. Go west you will go thru a small town called Fronteir. Keep going west You will have 2 stops One at hillsdalle road and one at State route 49 Stay going west About 1 mile their will be a wooded sign on left that says the Bluffs. It is 1 mile back to the camping area.

Location: Northwest Ohio | Doc, I don't think Tom didn't believe you. He simply stated what he had found while researching was too far away. Many of the places we all visit are too small to be found on the internet, as I'm guessing is the case here. I'm guessing maybe The Bluffs sounds familiar to me because I may have seen a sign. I'm interested in The Bluffs if it's that easy to find. I travel Territorial Road often all the way into Indiana, but I lost you in the directions when you say follow Territorial Road and go through Frontier. I've never seen Frontier so I looked it up. Mapquest shows Frontier on E. Montgomery Road, between 99 and S. Hillsdale Road, not Territorial. Can you please verify. |

Location: Dayton, OHio | The fairgound was excellent. There was plenty of space to ride, both arena and around the fairgounds. There was a HUGE back field that had perfectly mowed footing, so we just sailed around it. There were lots of obstacles to practice with too, like a big covered bridge, horses on the race track, wind blowing at 30mph. My new horse Spark was great with it all. The people at the fairgrounds, both horseman and staff, were very accommodating and friendly. We were able to set up camp with a picket line in a back area.I decided not to try the bluffs since once we got set, my wife needed the truck to get the dogs and dog equipment back and forth from our camping spot to where the dog show was being held. Thanks for all your help,Tom |
