Location: Edmond, OK | We're trying to plan a horse trip around my son's church camp week, and was wondering if anyone can give me some good details about guest ranches in Missouri. We've been to Big Piney 4J and love it, but the week I need is July 6-12, and their camp runs the following week. A couple of us girls are going, and we'd love to find a place that will cook for us! There are a couple of them around that area, but I'd like some "been there done that" before we make up our mind. We all have gooseneck LQ trailers, so we want electric and water hook-ups. |

| I could highly recommend Big creek, but I don't think they run camp in July. What about CCTR at Emminence? |

Location: MO in woods | Stay away from Emince CCTR if church group as place is on wild side etc.Try Coldwater Ranch(down road from CCTR) or Brushy Creek Lodge and Resort Black,MO.It will be really warm/hot in July.Have fun and post some pics when ya get back. |

OhMy...IMHO...this is NOT a family oriented campground. I would not even like to stay there. I was there once and it was a week long drinking party. The group I was with ending up leaving and ended up at another MO horse campground. We're just not into drinking and riding and drinking non stop.
Yes...we're prunes!! HAHA!!

| Big Creek Trail Rides doesn't allow open drinking on trails, ect. They don't actually forbid drinking at your campsite or trailer. But Brent made it real clear that they don't allow a bunch of drunks yelling and cursing and creating accident prone conditions at their place..It is family oriented, and the Howells have children that participate in the running of the ranch. So everybody has a good time anyway! So much fun, nothing but you and your horse are all that is needed! If you want to drink, you can, but, you keep it to yourself and keep it quiet at night. No dancing on top of pickups, ect. You get the picture. And,the crowd isn't NEAR what it is at Emminence,Big Creek doesn't have as many campsites and has smaller crowds. |
