| I'm so confused about what kind of mattress to get. It seems like lots of people have memory foam mattresses, but when I looked into it the mattress companies said that they should only be used as toppers or you would sink right down to the floor. What thickness do you have and what is the density? Do you find that you sink in alot? What about those of you that have foam mattresses-what thickness did you get? I found a real inexpensive one at foambymail that was a 36 density-is that not too hard and not too soft? Thanks alot for your help, I'm only framing in my nose cabinets but realized that I would need to know how high my mattress is before I could make them the right height! |

| We bought a memory foam mattress at Walmart for our trailer. We love it, not real thick but you do not sink to the floor. |

| We went to a mattress factory outlet and got a decent mattress there.Then,I bought an extra thick pad at WalMart like the ones that are to rejuvenate a worn mattress,ect.And,it works pretty good.Of course,the older you get the less adaptable the body is to sleeping on a different surface.The GN floor makes a very hard support for a mattress.I've heard of people putting a thin layer of foam such as an "egg crate" between the mattress and the GN floor for some cushion.We also decided to forego the queen sized mattress for our GN so I could have more room on either side to make up the bed.It helps!! |

Location: Bella Vista, AR | My trailer came with a horrible mattess. It was hard to find a replacement to fit in the alloted space. Denver Mattress company makes a mattress just for campers, it is a short queen. It is the memory foam type--- I love it. |

Location: East Tennessee, USA, Planet Earth | Get a memory foam. They are the best!! I have a full size one in my RV...got it at Walmart for about $150.00. Awesome...comfy, warm on cold nites and cool in the summer. My dogs love it too. HAHA! |

Location: Texas | Whatever you get make sure you get a standard size, otherwise you'll have a hard time finding sheets that fit it. |

| I forgot that I gave that outlet mattress to my stepdaughter.We'd bought a Denver for the trailer,so,we swapped it out with the mattress that had been on our guest bed,which was a Lady Englander,I believe.Anyway,it had been around a little while,so,I bought the mattress pad that was extra thick for it. We have a Denver mattress on our bed in the house,it has a partial memory foam on the top layer.It is just a wonderful mattress! Can't go wrong with that.What is the name of their mattress for campers,CTR RIder? |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | We don't have a LQ, but we live in the DR when away at the shows. We use a Coleman queen size air mattress. We use a mattress pad underneath, that acts as an insulator, and another mattress pad on top. Part of the time I sleep in the Lazy Boy recliner! Most of the time we are so tired from showing all day that we could lay in a pile of broken glass crawling with fire ants and still go to sleep. We lay down at about midnight and are up at 04:30. The thing about the air mattress is, you can adjust how firm you like it and you can deflate it and store it away if needed. Works for us! |

| We got an awesome one from our conversion company. It's a foam one about 5" thick. One side is for winter (warm to the feel) and one side is for summer(cool to the feel). Can't remember the brand name. Check with Glenda at http://whinnycargo.com/ She can probably order one for you and have it shipped directly to you. |

Location: seminole, fj | I use a futon mattress. Not a cheap one but it was cheaper than a regular mattress. It rolls up for easy installation and removal and is easy to flip. It is thick enough so you don't feel the floor and you can put regular sheets on it. I have a queen size and it is very easy to make up. Not that I make up the bed when we are camping. I don't even make up beds at home! |

Location: Roanoke IL | I got the JC Penney foam mattress topper and cut it to the size I needed. I got the extra firm, and while we didn't sink to the floor, it was truly EXTRA firm. It has taken a while to break it in, but now we love it. Heh...I remember angrily punching that foam mattress to try to soften it up. My boyfriend said "STOP IT!!" That mattress is going to remember that and throw you clear across the camper....it's "memory" foam you know... He's such a dope.. Amanda |
