Location: Missouri | Time to start thinking about vacation plans for the coming year. Thought it would be interesting to see where we're hoping to go and if anybody else has been there done that they might give a few travel tips. Hopefully fuel prices will stop rising but I guess we'll just have to see on that one. Anyways I'll start out with our plans. In April we are going to Tennessee and stay at East Fork Stables and then on to Bandy Creek in the Big South Fork. We've never stayed or ridden in that area so does anyone have any suggestions and what trails are a must see? September we hope to go back to the Black Hills in S. Dakota and then down to Fort Robinson in Nebraska. We've ridden in the hills several times and love to ride there and was at Fort Robinson a couple days last year and want to ride more of that and maybe go down to Soldier's Creek. So let's hear everyone elses' plans.   |

Location: Gallatin, TN | Hey Pooperscooper: I have been to East Fork quite a bit and really like it.  Although I have never ridden it myself, I am told the ride to the river takes 12 hours so be prepared if you choose that ride.   The "applebag overlook" is a nice ride with a great view. Happy Trails! JacciB |

Location: White Mills, Ky. | We have already planned 2 spring rides. In April, we are going to MidWest Trail Ride in Indiana.  Got around 15 folks going on that one.   For Memorial weekend, we are headed to One Horse Gap in the Shawnee National Forest of Illinois.   I am so excited.  I can barely wait!   RIDE ON! |

Location: West TN | We are planning to go to Ark, last of March. Ride the Black Hill of  S. Dakota & Big Horns in Wyoming, last two weeks in July.  Those are the only two trips we actually have planned.  Thinking about going back to Bandy Creek in the Big South Fork, and ofcoarse as Miagirl said lots and lots of Shawnee riding... Happy Trails |

Location: Missouri | Looks like everyone has some great trips planned. JacciB Thanks for the tip on East Fork, don't think I want to ride 12 hours. Isn't that the trail that's supposed to full of boulders you have to ride across? Shari, There are lots of places in Missouri to ride. We like Coldwater Ranch, lots of great trails along Current and Jacks Fork Rivers. There's also a nice place up by Salem called Whispering Pines. Trails along the Current River and lots of neat historical places to ride to. I've heard Shady Point at Fredricktown is nice but we haven't made it there yet.        |

Location: southcentral pennsylvania | My friend and I were discussing our "biological riding clocks." We decided we needed to take the more spirited rides while we are still able (we are AARP members.....). Sooooo, we are going on an African riding safari in the fall. I am VERY excited! Brenda |

  | Wow, Brenda, I bet that is going to be an awesome trip. I say go for the gusto, we are not getting any younger, and time flies by the older we get. |

Location: southcentral pennsylvania | Thanks, My friend recently presented me with a memento stating "Woman destined to grow old with no regrets." A wonderful compliment! I recently joined a cavalry reenactment unit. So, I will have mini vacations participating in various civil war events. I am particularly looking forward to the 145th Gettysburg Reenactment. They are expecting over 400 horses! Brenda |

Location: Owensboro, Kentucky | We are going to Bandy Creek at BSF for 8 days at the end of May. If it's your first time, make sure to ride to Charit Creek Lodge, O&W Bridge, Eye of the Needle and Devil's Den. The riding is great |

Enjoy your trip, Happy Trails. JacciB    |

Location: La Cygne, KS | We had planned on Horse Heaven, Cedar Lake, 4-J, and Big Creek for our big week long rides along with weekend rides locally at state parks etc, but might have to pair it down to just two week long rides. Just passed the diesel station tonight - $3.54 a gallon! Might have to trade in the diesel truck for a gas. |

Location: Edmond OK | I am planning to go back to Cedar Lake (just went there last weekend), J-D Ranch, and Robbers Cave for right now. Now that I finally have my set up together (truck, camper and trailer), diesel is killing me too. I just can't justify spending $50-75 to go on a day ride. So unless I am camping, I am staying close to home this year.

Location: Southern New Mexico | We were going to take the truck/camper to Disneyworld but after adding up the costs it will be cheaper to take the car and pay the $300 for gas and $800 for a hotel room (off disney).  The camping spot was only going to be $400 (on disney) but Diesel is going to be about $1300.  If prices don't go up between now and June. |

Location: corydon, in | With the price of fuel we'll ride close to home a lot this year. Hopefully make a trip to IL and also we'll do Brown County IN in the fall. Also I host a ride in KY. Relay for Life Porker Trial Ride this will be our 5th year. We ride on Sat. morning June 21st., Live band and catered meal that evening with lots of door prizes and raffles. The cost of the weekend is $20.00 and we raise a lot of money for the Realy.      Good Ridin' |

Location: Edmond OK | In Oklahoma we are very spoiled! Almost all of our horse camps have hookups. Both places are very nice. Robbers Cave is also an option. You can visit my website to check out places to trail ride in Oklahoma. www.oklahomahorseonline.com
