Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | Our new Cherokee 6 horse head to head has a  "Equalizer Systems" hydraulic lift landing gear........Good-God-All-Mighty......That thing IS nice!! Wife ask when we were putting one on the 30' flatbed, other horse trailer, the stock trailer, the manure spreader, the garden cart, etc....! If you are in the market for a new trailer, do yourself a favor and get the hydraulic landing gear. I don't know if any one model is any better than the other, any of them are better than hand twisting the heavy "sucka's" up and down!!

Location: Youngstown, OH | Oh yeah! This girl "aint crankin' nothin"! I had a single leg Equalizer on my last LQ and my newest LQ has a dual leg Big Foot. I really like the dual leg better because the trailer is much more stable. However, given the choice of hand crank or hydraulic jack - there is no question which way I'm leaning!!!! |

| we've got a dual leg Lunde lift hydraulic jack on our trailer.I agree,they are really nice to have.You couldn't get a trailer cranked up that size without needing physical therapy on your arm and shoulder.Kind of like that hammer thing,Rentento,huh? |

Location: western PA | Has anyone converted his back breaking twist handle to a hydraulic jack? One of my trailers is heavy and even with a two speed jack, tiring to lift. I've read the raves about these systems and wonder if anyone has switched. I've read about the conversions to electric and noticed the mixed reviews. I've also been aware that some owners have been able to use battery powered drills as a power source. Even in low range, with my gearbox recently greased, the torque necessary to turn my lift handle would far exceed anything except perhaps a 36v set up, or an ac 1/2" drill. Pros, cons? Thanks Gard |

Location: Odenville, Alabama | I LOVE our Equalizer Hydraulic dual landing gear ! On our last 12' LQ, we had an Equalizer electric. After hooking up the trailer to truck, hubby forgot to put the tail gate up ( he MIGHT be a dumbass sometimes ) and tore of the gear box. we then had to HAND CRANK through 2 sets of gears to get it off the truck. That was a %#*^& !!! |

| well he's not the only dumbass.We once PUT the tailgate up after unhooking from our old Towlite GN and just as we were driving off,something told me to "look back" and I did so,in time to see the GN coupler take out the tailgate.How's THAT for being one???!!! You might do it once,but,you sure won't be doing that twice. |

Location: Grapeland, Texas | If my electric jack goes out I am going to bite the bullet and get a hydrolic jack put back on. It went out on me last year but didn't have the $$$ to replace it, just had to have it repaired. It will probably last forever now, altho the guy that replaced the gears (plastic) said they won't won't last forever. |

Location: KY | gard, You can replace your two speed with a hydraulic we have done it several times the jack is expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. Installing an electric jack is a lot less expensive you just add a motor to the jack you have, but they are not as nice as hydraulic and draw alot more on your batteries and we have had no problems with hrydraulic jacks and have had some with electric. They were minor and more the trailer manufacturers fault, but they were problems. So I guess it depends on budget both will give you relief from that back breaking crank, but one is just a little more care free than the other.
