Subject: Hot water heater not starting right

Another little problem.  Hot water heater isn't starting like it should.  Have to go outside and jiggle and then it lights.   Any ideas on how to fix this problem?   I am learning a lot reading on here.  Thanks all.

Check all your wires, sounds like the wire to the ignitor might be loose.

Check your ignition sensor it tell the igniter that the water heater is lit if it is out of alignment it won't work correctly which would explain why when you jiggle it it works. If its not that then I would check the igniter itself.
