Was talking to a friend tonight who thinks she is the target of a scam. She is a CHA certified instructor and as such is listed on their website. She got an email from a man who claimed his son was in the area as an exchange student and he wanted to pay for 6 months lessons. The usual story-sent her a check, for well above the amount...when contacted claimed his wife had sent the son's entire travel allowance, would she please cash it and send back the difference. She is headed to the police tomorrow. It's the same scam but a little variation, just a warning to any riding instructors out there!

Sounds like they are brushing up on equestrian studies now...hmmm time for us to play with them again..lol.. I had a blast doing that with one. I have a P.O. Box and had them sending all kinds of fake checks and money orders there. I would tell them I never got them and could they please resend it. I bet I bilked them of at least a couple hundred in expedited mail charges...lol..
