I was sent this link and really shocked by what I saw and what the the video owner posted.  Supposedly this is a 2 1/2 yr old stallion.  It makes me VERY angry to watch this video.  Thought I would pass this on.

I wouldn't call that Southern Broke. At least, that's not the way most of us do it down here.

1000 things wrong with that episode. The people are idiots and the horse is crazy, probably rightly so.

Geez.

Why in the world would someone that knows nothing about horses buy a horse knowing it has such problems ? I do hope the horse is taken away from these people and goes to someone that has the patience and love that he needs.

Any reason why it's called "Southern Broke Horse Video" ? I didn't find anywhere where it said it was "southern" broke on YouTube.

Well, if you ever wanted to know how to make a horse a flipper, this is definitely the video for you.
Bet whatever state or national park they were at were happy to see their fence broke by a couple of idiots. That guy is too big to be riding that little 2 1/2 yo colt. OK, not to mention the obvious, too stupid. And there aren't too many, or for that matter any that I know of, public trails that allow stallions. Not to say people don't do it, but if you read the rules of the trail, it will say no stallions. It's kind of a better safe than sorry rule.
Oh, and yeah, yell at the horse and smack him around, that'll settle him down. A good example of someone who should have stuck with bowling.

Hillbillies

We don't have a monopoly on ignorance and stupidity here in the south, nor is this the only region that has "hillbillies." Plenty of that in other places too.

All that aside, wherever they are from, and they may have just happenedto be from the south,it is ignorant and they don't have any business having a horse.

And stupid isn't a trait unique to "hillbillies" either,(implication),stupid is found everywhere.

Here we call them "Ozark Americans" for more political correctness!

I went back to watch/listen again.

I could hear the accents, definately from "down here" somewhere.

"Git yo a-- over there" and "HAY,don't let im git loose out hear"

SOunds like me talking on it.I'm sure not that dumb when it comes to handling a horse, however.

I got the feeling that the little horse was still a stallion, too.

That one guy riding,"Cowboy Bob" with the chaps, more /less pulled the horse over on him.

Notice how when the horse is hung on the fence,he's not even really fighting or going crazy, poor little fella, just wants some help. Then that teenager boy (looks like one, acts like one) stands facing him head on pulling on the reins hollering "come on,come on."

It should be called "The Wild Sonnies and their horse." Instead of "Sonny the Wild Horse." No wonder he's wild in the company of these ignorant goobers.

It is self explanitory.........Gee, you'd think they would want to invest in some educational books on horses, maybe attend some seminars. Asking knowledgable people would be something of a common sense approach as well but as we all know, people who "know" it all, don't know s***. Blaming the horse instead of trying to understand the whys and getting answers to them without just assuming it's the horses fault because he's a "devil" horse is pure stupidity.

It's obvious that the little horse doesn't try to hurt anybody else.He never kicks or strikes at them,or puts his ears back, tries to bite or anything to defend himself other than get away from them when he has a chance.

It's also obvious that he doesn't know what to do,and,he isn't broke.I see a tie down on him also along with Cowboy Bob holding a tight rein on him.

These are the kinds of things and people that do them that ruin a perfectly good horse for life.

"Yore saddles' bout to fall off of im"

Whoa,Whoa,Whoa,WHOA! "Dang"

All I can say is,that's a pretty nice looking Tucker type saddle he's wearing and I hope he tore that $$ thing to smithereens,as we say "down here."

Guess those folks don't have RFD TV, huh? Very sad. I always say 99% of horse issues don't belong to the horse.

Ya know, I'm starting our 2-1/2 year old right now.  Maybe I should back him right away before I do any ground work...but first to find that tie-down....where did I put it?  Oh, and I have to get myself a little helper that can yell really loud.

I showed the wife this vid - she just shook her head and walked away.

Don't forget to trailer him off to a horse campground at some state/national park after you back him once. Ugh, he looks like he could have been a nice horse too, but once the learn to flip to get rid of the pressure I just don't trust them. They can improve, but should they get stressed...up and over they go. I hope the horse isn't beyond fixing, but my limited experience with flippers doesn't give me much hope. :( Whatta shame.
