When our drop-downs are open, the horses can stick their head out. But when the drop-downs are closed, I'm assuming there is very little air movement through the small slide-open window within the drop-down door. I want something that will keep a stone or debris from flying into the trailer but allow alot of air, especially when it's HOT outside. Also, do screens allow access to the horse's head from the outside, such as putting hay in manger or providing water on a long road trip?

| Schneiders sells them. They make a solid screen, and one that you can unzip for easy access to your horse. They are not that expensive. www.sstack.com |

Location: Southeast | We got our screens for the drop downs from Valley Vet.com. They are very nice screens from Professional Choice. They are regularly $19.95 but got them for $15.95 each. They are easy to install also. I think they are 35" wide & 24" tall. We have a brand new custom built Keifer Built 4H LQ, & the screens are just a little big but still look very nice. They will serve their purpose. My horses have worn fly masks in the trailer but some can get them off. You can get to the horse's head to feed or water still. I'm in Florida & leave the drop downs on both sides down for more air as it gets rather hot here! Valley Vet has a lot of good horse stuff!! |

I found out to put the velcro on the outside of the window and put all 6 footman loops around the window instead of just 4, worked fine and I got her now............![](http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/forum/emoticons/n3.gif) |
