I want to remove the ceiling from the trailer in my sig, so that I can cut skylights, replace insulation with something more suited to the task, and replace the ceiling material. The material used currently is some sort of plastic RV-style junk that looks like white ice, held in place with rivets.

How would I go about removing this? I assume I could just cut it out with an X-Acto knife, then Dremel the rivet heads off. Does anyone know if I could then remove the back side of the rivet? I don't know what the stuff is fastened into on the other side.

Thanks,

Mike

Just use a 1/8" drill bit and drill out the pop rivets, use a short bit.......like, 1/2" long so you don't poke through the roof metal. After drilling out the rivets the metal strap cross bows and the panels will just fall out. I don't think they are attached on the sides. Those metal bows are all that's holding the panels up on our Silver Star.
