Is anyone planning on going to this either October 13-14 or October 20-21? I think my husband and I are going to go one of these weekends - probably the latter - but not sure yet. Just wondering if anyone else plans on going. :)

I used to go down over Columbus Day wek end--the extra day-!! Not this yr though. The leaves can be spectacular at Graves. They are having a ride the last weekend in Sept, a friend of mine is going.

Never been to the actual Apple festival but usually went down the weekend after for trail riding. Will be there for the Grand Champion Trail Ride on the 28th- 30th. Anyone else going?

Where is Graves Mountain? Is there info available via the web?
It's in Syria, Virginia. The website is http://www.gravesmountain.com/. They're also having a trail ride September 28-30 and providing meals. The cost for the weekend is $85 per person. The information is also on their website.

Hi Trish from your "neighbor" in Caroline Co.! Graves is absolutely beautiful, and the bluegrass at their Apple Harvest Festival sounds incredible there in the mountains! The trails, leaves, apples, hayrides and food are great too. The only thing I might caution anyone on (esp. those bringing horses) is to get there early because this has become a VERY busy festival for them. I would not take my own horse up there during the festival time because of the more crowded conditions and the fact that she is still pretty green. They do provide about an hour long guided trail ride on their horses for a fee, but even for that you need to sign up early. Enjoy!
