Location: Goshen, IN | I am considering the purchase of a Keifer built GN - 3H that has side mangers. I do not know anyone that uses a slant with mangers. I am interested in the pro/cons to this. Also feedback on the Kiefer built trailers would be appreciated. |

| I am on my second Keifer built with living quarters. We have had no issues with either trailer. We do have the C-tires that others have said are very cheap but we use the trailer a lot and they do not appear to be wearing. Mine does not have mangers but I seen Keifer trailers that do. |

Location: La Cygne, KS | How wide is the trailer? If the trailer is not 8 foot wide, managers in a 7 foot do not leave much room and can be cramped if your horses are large. |

Location: KY | Mangers are very nice on a long haul for watering and feeding your horses. They also add a lot of storage under the mangers so if you're not hauling long distances you do have the extra storage room which is always nice. They aren't a have to have, but they are a safer alternative to nylon feed bags which I have seen horses get their hoofs caught in. I am a Kiefer Built dealer so I can tell you anything you might want to know. The biggest thing about Kiefer is their warranty. They have a 3 yr hitch to bumper warranty which covers everything on the trailer including tires, brakes, and everything in the LQ. And they have an 8 yr structural warranty which covers the frame. In my opinion anyone who will put that kind of warranty on their trailer is obviously extremely confident of their product. I have a Kiefer myself and I love it it pulls great and is very well built and easy to use. Pretty much if it is a new Kiefer with the warranty you have nothing to loose. If you have any questions just let me know. |

Location: georgia | dixie, can I ask you something as a Keifer dealer? First I have to frown at you for getting the "dixie" user name here. I live in south Georgia and do wave the stars and bars. I have the dixie username at several online sites but you beat me to the draw here. We own 2 railers at the moment, a 4 horse exiss, and a 3 horse safe ride, both slant loads. We want a 2 horse, stright load, gooseneck with mangers and tack storage underneath them with access to the tack from the outside. I was on a Keffier lot a couple of weeks ago and they had a dozen 2 horse straight loads but they just had all this wasted space in front of the horse. The saddles still take up your valuable space in the front of the trailer and you would have to go in and out to get to it. Does Keiffer offer this kind of set up? If not do you know who does? I have sen one 2006 sundowner but it was already equiped with an expensive LQ and we did not want to pay the 25,000 price tag for a 2 horse trailer. Thanks Mike and Darcy |

Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | I have owned two Kiefer Trailers both Genesis and the last one had mangers, I can't for the life of me see how folks say mangers cramp the horse. If a horse is that close to the wall to where the mangers would be in the way, where is his neck and head? Straight up in the air? Anyway, Kiefer had some problems with ramps and doors prior to 2002, but they make a good trailer, it will compare with any of the mid level priced trailers. |

| In regards to the warranty with Keifer, the above quoted warranty is not for ALL Kiefer Built new trailers. I wish people would not give the impression that it is for every Kiefer trailer. (only certain models and not the "low end ones) Found that out when I bought a new 2 horse straight load Grand Prix with mangers and dressing room. In regards to the mangers, in my model, they come with a pull out saddle rack under each manger, accessed in the dressing room, great storage place! |

Location: KY | We have an XE 144 (2004) which is very, very nice. Took it to Midway Trailers in Calvert City KY today for some relatively minor service work. We just got back from a 3,500 mile trip out west. This trailer is 8.5 wide and has managers which are wonderful for storage of all the stuff we haul around with us. No problem with fitting horses in the slant stalls. Anyway, saw a couple of Keifer 2 horse trailers on their website and looked at them in person today. Just have to look.....never know what you will find. Anyway, suggest you look at the Midway site. |

Location: Trout Creek, MT | We just bought a Logan 7'3" wide with mangers. Our large Paint (halter type) horses fit just fine. As another poster said, the mangers take up space under the horses head and neck. However, you cannot turn our horses around, they need to back out. Also, on a long haul this summer one of our mares inhaled some hay or grain and was kind of "clogged up" while at a show for a couple days. I rode her home in the front stall (Escape door, and no manger) and she was better. I suspect she couldn't lower her head to cough up what she inhaled. So everything comes with give and take. Overall, I like them. I really like the storage, and it makes watering the horses much easier while hauling long trips. |

Location: KY | Whoa Boy, Whooooa I was not trying to give the impression that all their trailers come with that warranty. That was a lapse on my part the Genesis and the Evolution trailers have the warranty I just assumed that we were talking about one of those models because it is a 3 horse slant with mangers. Not trying to mislead anyone just trying to give some helpful info to ANP. If you were misled by some other dealer I'm sorry, but I don't pull stuff like that and didn't mean to imply that all their trailers have that warranty. Thanks. |

Location: KY | pinetree you can also try wetting your hay a little when hauling on long trips that keeps the dust down in the trailer. |
