Location: River Valley | We are in the process of DIY LQ and really want a shower/toilet combo, but, I think that we don't have the room where it needs to go. So, I have been contemplating putting in a cowboy shower instead. But, we don't have a walk thru door & the cowboy shower would not be very convenient without that door. Has anyone put a walk thru door in? What's the best way to go about doing it?

Location: North of Detroit, MI | Yes. People have done it before. You will need to purchase the door from a trailer sales place, have the opening cut by someone that is qualified to this (is the wall steel or alum?) You'll need all the gasket material too to fit around the door. Todd Redwrench (I think that's who it is) has a website and explains how he did his. Look through the DIY LQ threads. I think he goes by MacWall on this site. |

Location: Odenville, Alabama | I have several friends who have had walk-thru doors put in after the fact. They all look and function well. Don't be afraid, just do it! |

| I"d give the cowboy shower some more thought. I don't think you will be happy with it. I'm sure others will chime in and give you more feed back. |

Location: River Valley | Yes, I really don't want to do that kind of construction, and I really would like to shower in the airconditioning! I have found some pictures of toilet/shower combos from several DIYers on here that it may be possible. I just have to see if I can get the pan custom ordered or I will have to make one myself (thoughts of leaks there, though!). |

Location: georgia | Hello, You really did not say how large your trailer is to begin with and if you need all the horse space that you have. We have a 4 hores with an escape door in the front stall and we are considering turining it into a 3 horse and dividing the extra space and putting 1/2 into a bathroom and making the other 1/2 a midtack with access bia the escape door. If you did not want the madtack you could have a seperate entrance to the bathroom so you could use it without tracking up the living quarters as often. Just an idea that I'm sure has been though of.
