| What roadside assistance services are the best? We don't haul every weekend,or even very often at all,but I hate to think about having a breakdown in heat like this with horses,and would like to have some roadside services available,maybe one with different plans for # of miles traveled a year,ect. |

Location: NW | US Rider is the BEST! I've had their coverage for 2 yrs now & have used them alot - most of it was for the darn truck last yr when it was going thru a bunch of stuff & it had to be towed to the dealer 90 miles away 3 times - from our driveway! They are great to respond quickly - would NEVER be w/o their service now. Well worth the $$. |

Location: North Carolina | As previously posted... For me... There is only one service worth getting with horse trailers... US rider. They answer the phone with a question. "Are you and the horses safe?" Unlike some other services (Even with the $$ RV option) you don't have to beg and plead to get them to tow a horse trailer rig. (horror stories have been posted in various forums) go to usrider.org |

| I agree x10. US Rider. Worth every penny! These folks are on the ball! They even call back later to be sure everything's OK. I can't recommend them highly enough! |

As I remember the wording of my old plan. "... extraction (towing) by a standard equiped tow vehicle..." I don't think a truck with a 3 horse GN is within that capability. And if you have a dually, some plans have that as an automatic exclusion. Further, the key issue is unloading horses on a highway. There is always the chance of a horse getting away from you. You can't hold a horse if he's spooked by 70mph traffic a few feet away from him. When the next car hits the horse, people are going to die, not even speaking about the horse's condition. And if you have multiple horses, the problem doesn't just double for two. Also where are you going to put a couple of horses when there are guard rails or worse completely surrounding you. One needs to have a plan to get a disabled horse rig to a safe place. For me that plan is USRider. |

Location: Arkansas | I have had Sam's Club, AAA etc. Fine for a light pickup alone or a car. Add a dually or any kind of horse/stock trailer loaded or not and you are just about sunk. US Rider is what we have now, and they are specifically trained and focused on the EQUINE industry as regards roadside assistance. Absolutely, they are the ONE for us.!!! |
