Location: AL | I have F350-01 model and it has been a great truck. I know that the newer models have had their problems, but this one has been a champ. However, lately the ac will start blowing hot air while travelling down the road. This might last a few minutes or a good 10 minutes. It will eventually get back to blowing cool air and usually does it when we are towing. We really aren't sure what is going on, because it doesn't go out completely, but just every now and then. Has anyone had any similar problem or know what might be causing this? thanks for any help! |

Location: West Coast | You air conditioning may need re-charging. I would make sure there are no leaks and then have it re-charged, that's probably where I would start. |

Location: Texas | Check your compressor cycle switch. They are cheap and easy to change out. |

Location: Claxton, Ga. | A couple of things can cause this. What may be happening is the evap. is freezing up in the dash causing the fin temp sensor to cut the compressor off so it can thaw out. This can be caused by a low charge on R134a. I would evacuate the system and weight the R134a to see how much was in the system. If the system was low I would vacum the system down and check for leaks. If the proper amount of refrigerant came out you may have a bad fin temp sensor or High/Low pressure switch. Hope this helps. |

Location: Arkansas | Yes. Once the compressor cycle switch, and once when the alternator was getting weak and starting to go. It is a 2000 F350 and the actual AC has not had to be fixed, but these other things sure made it unpredictably blow air that was NOT cool! |

Location: Arkansas | The switch was replaced about 3 years ago. The alternator just went bad this July, replaced, and everything is working very well......good luck! |
