Location: Odessa, MO | I just purchased a used 4 horse 4 star trailer.. It was on consignment at a dealer. Anyhow after I purchased it the previous owner saw it and he is like wow that trailer looks great.. The dealer did an acid wash on it after he took it there to be sold.. Here is my question.. It has streaks in the Aluminum.. The previous owner said that I just need to acid wash it again.. Is this something fairly easy to do.. I have ready on other threads just make sure to not get it on your windows... Will it hurt the graphics??? What about the seals on the doors?? Don't want to do something I will regret.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks  |

Location: Iowa | I take mine to a truck wash at a truck stop once a year without any problems. Done this for over 10 years. They unhook it from the truck because the solvent used will damage the clearcoat on the paint. Also if the trailer has aluminum or chrome wheels with any type of plastic coating, they will cover the wheels because the solvent will damage the coating. |

Location: desert hills, az | I tryed the Streakmaster ALuminum Brightner (www.streakmaster.com) and was extremly satisfied with the results. It was as good as an acid wash in my opinion and about 1/10 the cost. I am sure there are some great acid washing places around, but the place I went were used to doing cattle hauling trailers and didn't really care about taking good care of my LQ. |

| I told them about the Streakmaster products also.There was a thread on here about it with pictures of before/after trailers that looked good.Not long after the thread where the guy was ripped pretty good about his products I had the chance to buy the Streak eliminator itself in a spray bottle,and I can say that it worked better than any product I have ever used to get rid of black streaks on white aluminum skin. |

| Can you use the Streakmaster on the inside of an aluminum trailer? Will it hurt the wall mats? |

| I wouldn't think so,if you rinse it well.It is pretty mild what from I understand,nothing like commercial aluminum acid washes even tho I believe it is an acid wash.It would have to be to shine like it does.But I'd just rinse it well,not get it on my window glass inside or out just to be on the safe side,rinse it off right away if I did. |

Location: Decatur, Texas | It will not affect the graphics. I used the brightener on our 4-Star and all it did was clean and shine it like new. We don't have any painted surfaces, just mill finish with graphics. |

Location: iowa | I have used the streakmaster on a couple fenders on a enclosed cargo trailer, which were pretty badly corroded and blackish looking, wow no work just spray it on let set rinse with hose, what a difference, now I just need to work up the confidence to do it to my 3h LQ. not sure I want to do it but one of these days I will get it done. |
