Location: Southern New Mexico | I have been looking for some clippers and I don't want to spend a bunch since it is our first year in 4-H and I want to make sure the kids really do want to show before investing in the expensive stuff. Does anyone know of some affordable clippers that arent real loud? I've been looking at the Andis clippers but they are very inexpensive so I don't know. Any opinions? Thanks |

Location: Brooksville, Fl | Hi, I assume you are just wanting to clip whiskers and bridle paths....I would recommend the Wahl clippers. You can get a pair for under $30, usually, and they are very quiet and will last you a very long time. I'm talking about the ones with the grey housing. I also have the cordless model and it isn't quite as good. They also have adjustable blades which is very nice. Ebay always has some clippers for sale but your local tack shop and sometimes the feed dealer may also have them. Hope this helps, Tammy |

Location: columbia tn | i dont know how much you want to spend but the wahl stable pro is great.. they are quite lightweight and adjustable blade and i have went through alot of clippers in my days... they are down to 75.00-80.00bucks they also come in a nice plastic case to keep the dust off... anyway we love them...happy trails |

Location: Fort Worth, Tx | I like the Wahl Iron Horse myself for around $65, it has a very sturdy housing and is relatively indestructible, which is important for kids! If you want to spend a little more the Laube Speed Feed clippers are fabulous, they are cordless, come with two batteries, very effective, and relatively quiet. I use them to groom dogs as well as my horse. They cost around $100-130, but I have found them to be a great investment. |

Location: AL | Wow, I must be really cheap! I got mine at Wal-Mart in the pet section and they do great on whiskers. bridle path, ears, fetlock hairs, etc... Just keep the hair brushed out and keep them oiled and they are going strong. I do believe they are made by Wahl as well! Just my .02! |
