On the way home from a ride this weekend, the green light on my brake controller wasn't on and the brakes weren't working. The manual slide wouldn't work the brakes either.   All the lights and signals on the trailer worked.  I disconnected the plug from the truck, and put a test light on the recepticle for the brakes.  When I did this the light came on on the controller.  I'm thinking I'm getting power to the plug recepticle.  What could it be?  Bad ground maybe?

More likely a bad connection in the brake circuit.  Since the trailer lights and signals work, the ground connection is good.  The brake controller is sensing the test light and responding appropriately so the trailer is likely the problem location.
