Location: Odessa, MO | To all, I am thinking of purchasing a new (to me) used 4 Star trailer this weekend.. What are somethings that I should look for?? The trailer is quite a ways away and just want to make sure I check everything before I purchase. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Location: Arkansas | You didn't say if it has a LQ or Dressing room, if so make sure AC works, and perhaps run a water hose over the roof to check for leaks. Structure and floor, crossmembers underneath, most important, also check welds around hitch area. Nice to plug in and make sure lights, brakes work, and if LQ check underneath on holding tanks, make sure appliances run. Check hinges welds or fastenings, see if there is a working battery in the breakaway box. Good luck, hope all goes well! |

I suggest that if it passes your "visual" inspection to call a trailer dealer in that area and make an appointment to have them do a full inspection. They should have a check sheet that they use and then a mechanic typically goes over the check sheet and verifies that the trailer is in good shape. It is worth the few extra bucks spent and will give you piece of mind. |

Location: Odessa, MO | I think I have backed out of going to look at the 4 star trailer I was interested in because it is 11 hours 1 way to get there... I really like the trailer, but I have my time invested then and if something isn't right then I have 11 hours home with out a trailer plus the cost of fuel just keeps rising.. Live by KC and you would think I could find something I like close but haven't had any luck yet.. Really needing to get a trailer, had to borrow a friends today to go to the ferrier.. |
