Location: KS | Does anyone have a retractable screen door in the living quarters of their horse trailer, and how do you like. Is it hard to find someone to install them on a horse trailer. |

Location: Grapeland, Texas | I have some friends that bought a trailer back in the spring with one and at the time they liked the screen door. Don't know if they still like it or not. It wouldn't do me because of my dogs. If you bump them pretty good they will open. First time my dogs figured that out there would be no keeping them in. |

| Lowes or homedepot have them and they look easy to install. |

Have you thought about putting a baby gate in front of the screen? That's what I use for my girls.

Location: KS | I haven't been able to find them at our Lowe's and Home Depot, and when I asked about them, they didn't know what I was talking about. I seen one on the internet called the phantom screen door which looks like what I might need but there wasn't any pricing with it and wasn't sure how they would hold up on a horse trailer.

Location: Coconut Creek, FL | My trailer came with one and I'm very happy with it. You do need to be careful when opening & closing it and hold it all the way back in. I don't like others to open it as I've had people let go and it snapped back in. I don't travel with any critters so that hasn't been an issue. One friend had one and I don't know if it wasn't installed properly or what, but it didn't work well. She ended up getting the regular screen door, but had to buy a new aluminum door for her Sundowner and getting the whole thing done was very pricey - over $800. but she's happy with the camper screen door. |

| You have to get a different door frame for most of them. Usually there is not enough room on one side or the other with the living quarters. They are very easy to install if you have the right framing. |

Location: Youngstown, OH | The retractable screen doors you find at Lowes/home depot won't work for your trailer as they are designed for residential use - home doors are wider & taller than the doors in your LQ. Your best bet is to find an RV surplus store because those screens are made for RV's. Good luck! |

Location: oxford, ny | we have the retrackable screen door and really like it...the pros are that the screen will not tear as the door will open with pressure. the con is that it takes a consious remembering to close it so you don't get insects in the trailer. we have had the typical camper screen door and now the retrackable and wouldn't go back.... |

Location: IN | I've been looking at the ones at Lowes and Home Depot too. I will have to install some framing around the door to make it work, but I'm planning on finishing my DR so that's okay. From what I understand, the retractable screen doors from both places are able to be modified to fit the horse trailer door. They are plenty wide and are taller than I need. Haven't installed one yet, but I can see the benefits over a regular screen door. Let us know how it works! |

Location: Levy County, Florida | It was under $300. I paid very little shipping as I don't live too far away from them in Florida. It operates just like a roller blind but verticle...all encased in white metal. |
