Location: Boscobel WI | Wondering what u all use to cover the hay in the hay rack while traveling.I just bought a new trailer with a hay rack not a pod.wondering what u can use to cover the stuff in the hay rack while going down the road.and where it can be puchased. Thanks Jim |

Location: La Cygne, KS | Haybale bags work great on keeping hay dry. I prefer the Justin brand since the nylon and zippers are a little thicker than the ones sold from Countrysupply, but I use both brands and just replace the cheaper made ones as they wear out. Had the zippers give out on the Country Supply brand. Each Justin brand bag costs around $20.00. I use the bags because it makes it easier on me to put and take down with a rope. I also use the front end loader if I'm stacking 8 bales at a time. My friend uses a canvas tarp fastened down with trailer straps. Seems the canvas doesn't flap as bad as the nylon ones.

Location: Arkansas | We lay a long tarp on the hayrack, load the hay on the tarp, then lay the tarp over the hay from front to back. We use those tarp attachments that you buy seperate and can attach anywhere on the tarp for a place to tie bungie cords to and lace er up with the top of the tarp overlaying the bottom. This is for extended hunting trips, as we usually use the front stall for hay on ordinary weekends etc. |
