Hello

Does anyone know how steel Featherlite horse trailers hold up.

The welding, sturdiness, etc.

I looked at a 1997 2 h gn w/living quarters.

I am interested in possibly buying this trailer.

Good shape, but you can see the rivets thru the paint, and the welding seems ????

Not much rust.

Thanks

I have a 98 steel featherlite, no frills.  Just a dressing room on a 4horse slant with stock sides.  The only complaint I have is the roof seams in the dressing room are leaking.  I need to replace the calk along the seam and remove the fiberglass along the nose and clean the old calk out and replace with fresh calk.

It pulls great and the paint has held up fairly well.  Its almost 10 yrs old and still has the original wood floor.   Once I fix those seams and have it painted I won't need a new trailer for quite a while.

Thanks Terry

The person is asking $10,000 obo

Do you think this price is fair for this brand?

2H slant w/foldable rear tack

9ft long wall

propane heater and burners

sink with hand pump water

lined and insulated dressing room

bed

porta potty

This is trailer has been kept great.

I usually look at other brands, but how the trailer was finished caught my eye. So, in comparisons, I don't knowwhat this brand usually runs for.

I can't speak to the steel Featherlites, but as far as the welds and overall quality of the Featherlites in general, they're great. When I bought my new aluminum Featherlite in 1992, my husband (Ocean Engineer) checked it out thoroughly, comparing it to several other brands. He has high standards...Everything has to last in the ocean according to him! I still have that trailer and have no desire (within my budget!) to upgrade. It's SOLID. My guess is that the quality workmanship in the steel Featherlites is comparable, but always look thoroughly at the individual trailer you're considering for signs of misuse, accidents or poor quality.
