Many County Fairgrounds allow overnight stays for little or no $$. Go to http://www.countyfairgrounds.net/ They are usually quite nice - both facilities (most have stall or pens for the horses and electric and water hookups) and people. They are listed by state and county. We call up to verify that there are no events going on that would fill the space. Also check out the various rodeo grounds. Same deal as the fairgrounds.
