Hi all,

we are contemplating buying a 1983 Featherlite 4 H aluminum slant gooseneck - seller asking $6200 for it. anyone out there have experience with these older Featherlites (good or bad), or general issues we should be aware of??? Any comments would be welcome!!!

does anyone know what kind of suspension these 1983 Featherlites have??

Thanks a lot!! gina

Pull the mats up and check the floor, check the brakes, tires and bearings. I believe the trailer industry started to use torsion axles in 1987, earlier had spring suppension. It easy to find out, look behind the tires and see if you could see springs.

If its in good shape, I would not be afraid of it. My cousin's still have some early 80's Featherlites going down the road...they have held up well and get used alot. Besides the flooring, I would check welds, the understructure, wiring and the axles. Good Luck.
