Location: Northern CA | in some configurations of trailer plugs there can be two ways that the brakes are wired and if you get it wrong, the brakes go on when you power up. The connector can be rewired to swap those wires. Some adapters, (when the truck and trailer have different numbers of pins) also have the ability to swap this wire inside the adapter, leaving the truck and the trailer as they were. Whoever installed the brake box should have verified this and handled the wiring option properly. |
