Location: FL | About 7 months ago my usband and I(ok me) purchased a 1998 Bee 3H SL BP. The frame, floor, and roof, are all in good condition. There is ALOT of rust on the weld seems. y husband thought in was fixable when we bought it but now 7 month later all that has been fixed is a leak around the window in the dressing room. I am now wondering if we made a big mistake in buying this trailer. It was what we could afford for the size trailer we needed. Has anyone fixed a trailer in simular condition? Is it worth fixing? How labor intensive will it be? And where do we start? I will try and post pictures. Lisa |

Location: Eagle Creek,Oregon | I can share my experience with you. We bought a 1986 Circle J 2H slant for a great price , but it came with a ton of surface rust on the seams. We used a wire wheel on a drill motor for endless hours and then sealed it with a rust inhibitor before painting it. In the end the rust reappeared. We recently sold it. We have a newer 2004 steel trailer now and as others will agree the newer steel trailers have much beter paint and paint prep quality than th old ones. If I had to do it again I'd look for Aluminum(If you can afford it, we couldn't) or a later model steel trailer that uses the newer painting methods. The rust work on that old trailer was the cure for me! |
