I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with towing package. My owners manual says my seven wire harness with seven pin connector includes lights as well as trailer brake. From what I've read on this forum, sounds like you all suggest a brake control box as well. Does one interfere with the other?

I am pulling a 2h bumper pull cornpro.

Thanks

Hello Cab1118 ... Welcome to the forum..

for trailers with electric brakes... You NEED a brake box (controller)  The controller lets you vary the braking force.  Otherwise if you'll just apply full power to the brakes, the trailer will either have NO brakes or locked wheels.  Not a good situation.

The brake wire from your towing package just tells the brake controller when you want braking.

ok, thanks. That is what I thought. But the more I read my owner's manual on my Tahoe the more I started to question it.

Thanks
