Location: Florida | I just bought a used featherlite and I'm trying to remove the carpet in the dressing room, it is n-a-s-t-y!! It is so so so hard to remove, I have half of it undone, but underneath, it has 3M adhesive spray and it is there to stay! I am pooped and my poor hands can't take it anymore, any suggestions on what will loosen up that adhesive? By the way, I called the dealer and that's what they said they use to make the carpet stick. Seems to sticky to me but maybe over time, it gets really gooey. They had no suggestions other than to keep pulling! |

Location: Texas | Are you using a scraper or just pulling it loose? A stiff putty knife can make a good scraper that will help you get it up as you pull it back, TSC carries a scraper for carpets but that's probably too big for your dressing room. Most hardware stores should have a floor scraper for around $10 though.
BTW, it isn't any easier when it's glued down in your house.... I got to remove old carpet in my house that was glued down with that stuff.5 |

Location: Florida | Thanks for the suggestion on the scraper, I went last night and bought after another friend suggested I do so. I also thought about using a blow dryer to heat up the glue and then use the scraper to remove the carpet, hopefully, it should come up easier. I saw on another website that 3M makes adhesive remover to make it a little easier too. |

Location: Kansas | You might consider renting a steam machine of some sort to see if that would loosen the glue also. Works great on wallpaper, so maybe... |

Location: michigan | I also had that Dr carpeting in the LQ and hated it. I couldn't find a good way to rip it up so i just ocvered it up with the peel and press floor tiles. Been that way for two years and its great. |

I was going to do that too but whoever ever had it before me, spilled what I think is Kopertox in a large area and not only was it soaked underneath, but it stunk really bad! |

| Can you just put the insulation over the carpeting or does it have to be ripped out? |
