Location: Mannford, OK | Two or three times a year when I have turned off the pickup with the A/C running... the next time you get in to start it up the A/C does not work, control panel for the unit is completely blank. The first time it happened I swore it was because someone messed with my settings, but now it has happened on several more occasions. Usually about the third time you start it after this happens it will go back to where it was & work fine. Sometimes it takes a few days. On one occasion it started back up while we were driving down the road. When I took it in to the dealer they told me they had no way to know what caused it if it was working when they looked at it. Not surprisingly my dealership has since gone out of business, so I'd like to not look like a total idiot when I take it to a new dealer for service & ask them to fix it. It's been my general experience that I have better luck with repairs when I tell them what is wrong before they open the hood! Thanks in advance for any help you have. |

I had my display go blank one time, but could never repeat the condition. I've heard of a couple similar complaints but with no explaination as to what causes it. I've also heard that turning the headlights on and off has brought the display back on. |

I had a problem same as yours on my inlaws Taurus I took it in three times. I finally isolated it as a connection module out in front of the radiator and fixed it my self. The dealers don't have a clue unless its not working at the time. This was where a male and female connection was made with several contact points, one would ground out when it got hot. Good luck my in-laws were ready to trade it off because it always failed when it was 90 degrees

| We had the same problem in our 95 Explorer and 2005 F250. The explorer we just lived with. The 05 250, I took back to the dealership and they replaced the whole climate control unit under warranty. You are NOT crazy, this is a real issue with the wiring harness of the climate control. Any decent dealership will have seen this at least once or twice and will replace the unit. |

Location: Mannford, OK | Thank you all for your replies...I was hoping it was not just happening in my pickup! I'll just print off a copy of this & take it along with me to the dealership. |
