Is an F-350 large enough to pull a living quarters trailer that is 14,500# unloaded and 42' total length, or is a larger truck needed?

It is a 2000 with dual rear wheels and a 7.3L V8 Turbo Diesel.

My trailer is about like yours. I towed it with a 350 and a 4500 (had a 450 6.0L and it was trash! so I got a 4500). I MUCH prefer the 4500!

You need a bigger truck. That year, the F350 is only rated to pull 12,500 lbs I believe. Go to the Ford website and search "towing guide" and they hava PDF file that gives towing and hauling limits by year.

When Ford went to the 6.0L engine, the F350 towing capability went up to 15,000 lbs if I remember correctly.
